March Madness

No, this post isn’t about college basketball and the only reason I know this reference is because of my mother. March has and will continue to be a crazy month for this family. The month began with everyone getting sick. David must have caught a cold at work, which he then gave to me, and not a day later Oliver catches it as well. We have been very fortunate to have a healthy baby up until this point so Oliver being sick was a whole new ball game. It’s hard enough to function when you alone are sick but then to take care of a sick baby when you are sick, yuck. David is now 100% better and I am getting to that point. Unfortunately, Oliver is still sick and we took him to the Dr. last week and was told he has RSV, a respiratory virus. We are having to give him breathing treatments with a nebulizer and he HATES them. If you have a chance to send some prayers our way for Oliver’s health that would be wonderful and greatly appreciated.

Apart from the sickness in our house March is the month of visitors. Anna, David’s sister, arrived last week and we all travelled to Florida to see their brother Tommy and his girlfriend Alexis. I plan to do a separate post detailing that trip. Anna took the train back to IL yesterday. Tomorrow my mom arrives and will stay for a week and then closing out the month will be David’s parents arriving just in time for Easter. I have a feeling that I’ll have some good pictures and videos to post of Oliver with his visitors so stay tuned!

In the meantime Oliver is still in good spirits while dealing with being sick, oh and did I mention teething? Oliver is most definitely teething now. He has two bottom teeth just starting to break through! So here may be the last few toothless smiles we’ll see.

One Day In Pictures

Here’s what a day in the life of Oliver and Mom looks like:

After the final “wake up” of the night Oliver plays in his bouncing seat…
While Mom drinks her first cup of coffee…

Oliver goes down for his first nap, Mom catches up on paying bills, this blog, emails, housework, etc…
Oliver has a little snack, Mom tries to clean the kitchen between bites…
Go for a walk around the neighbourhood. (I know this has been said before but Oliver LOVES walks. He is so quiet and calm during walks and just enjoys looking around)
Then it’s down for another nap while Mom continues work on what didn’t get done during the first nap…
After nursing and a diaper change Oliver and Mom will play together on the floor (which entail Mom putting Oliver is a sitting position and watching him fall forward or backward, and repeat)…
Oliver plays on the bed while Mom folds and puts away laundry…Oliver will eventually take another nap while Mom makes supper…
supper time…
bath time…
Finally Oliver hangs out with Dad until bedtime.

Of course there is slight variations to our day when there are appointments or errands to run. Also Oliver changes so much that even the above day has changed in that he doesn’t like the bouncy seat anymore and usually will take two naps instead of three.
